Abedeen Secondary School
Abedeen Secondary School adopts the Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Menengah (KSSM) endorsed by the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE).
KSSM enhances student’s learning and skills to prepare them for tertiary education. More emphasis is put on the use of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) while continuously developing their humanitarian, spiritual, physical and emotional values.
Abedeen Secondary School is offered for students from the age of 13 – 17 years old where they complete their secondary education from Form 1 to Form 5. During this time, students may opt to take an assessment at 15 years old in Form 3 called Pentaksiran Tingkatan 3 (PT3). PT3 is a school-based assessment with no certificate of result issued by the Malaysian Examination Board (MEB). At 17 years old in Form 5, students will sit for the Sijil Peperiksaan Malaysia (SPM), a national examination certified by the MEB. SPM is equivalent to the Cambridge IGCSE and O Level examinations which provides students with the opportunity to pursue their pre-university education at college or university. The minimum requirement for a student to obtain their SPM certificate is to pass subjects Bahasa Melayu and History.
