It is said that not all accidents are bad. That is the case for Somali born Asha. Upon graduating from International Islamic University Malaysia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Islamic Studies, she started teaching in a kindergarten. Her passion for teaching sparked and after 2 year, she pursued Master’s Degree in Psychology. During her Master’s Degree, she focused on specialising in handling children with learning disabilities. As part of her community service, Asha worked with Somali and Arab refugee children, teaching them English, Mathematics and Islamic Studies and becoming their counsellor. Asha is also experienced in the methods of child centred play therapy.
Asha joins Abedeen Academy as the Year 1 Super Teacher at the Abedeen International School. She brings fun to the learning; a very effective method in getting children to love coming to school to gain knowledge.
