Headmaster of Abedeen Secondary School

Double Degree in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and History & Civilization

Ismuie is an expert in education and motivation. Upon graduating from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with a double degree in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and History & Civilization in 1995, he kicked off his career as a lecturer cum administrator at Tutorial Institute, Klang. Later in 2003, he founded Interactive Learning Skills which offers consultation, training and motivational programmes at schools and universities. Over the years, he developed his own skills to become a certified trainer in parenting, stress management, office management and teambuilding.

Ismuie joins Abedeen Academy as the Headmaster of Abedeen Secondary School where he is responsible of the school’s academic and non-academic achievement while ensuring that the students graduate from Abedeen Academy with a spot at the best colleges or universities.

Computer Engineering

Since the age of 18 years old, Taranjit has been teaching and tutoring primary and secondary students. By the time she graduated from Informatics College in Computer Engineering, she was running her own tuition classes teaching Mathematics, including preparing students for UPSR and Cambridge Checkpoint. Backed with corporate experience from Telekom Malaysia, Citibank and RE2 International Computer School, Taranjit joins Abedeen Academy as a Mathematics teacher.

As an educator and the Assistant Headmaster of Academics for Abedeen International School, Taranjit lives by the concept of ‘drilling and practicing until you succeed’. She complements this effort by motivating and inspiring her students through stories of real life working experiences so that her students don’t ever become complacent with ‘just enough’. As the Assistant Headmaster, she is responsible to ensure that the students of Abedeen excel in their academics. Apart from ensuring that the students get enough drill and practice, she arranges for examination workshops, career talks and motivational talks.

KAMAL BASHAH BIN BAHRIN

Degree in English Language and Literature

Kamal obtained his first degree in English Language and Literature from International Islamic University Malaysia. He began his career as a Human Resources Executive in the President’s Office of Samsung Electronics Seremban Complex HQ where he looked after fringe and benefits for four Samsung manufacturing facilities in Malaysia. Kamal later joined IRIS Corporation Berhad and became a certified Project Manager. He was involved in several Government-related projects in several countries such as Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Syria and Lebanon to name a few. Upon returning from his last project in Saudi, Kamal’s journey in education began. He got himself certified in early childhood education and went on to take one of the boldest steps in his career, joining CIC Where Leaders Are Born.

With a vast experience in management and early childhood education, backed by his background in English literature, he is now the Acting Principal of Abedeen Academy.

AIDA ILYANA NORUL HUDA

Aida always knew that she wanted to teach English as she developed a love for the language at a very young age. Right after high school, she pursued her Diploma in English Studies at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). Upon completing her Diploma, she decided to gain some experience by teaching English at a private Islamic school in Seremban before then graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

She is now an English teacher at Abedeen Primary School where she aspires to guide and encourage her students to never give up in reaching for their goals and dreams.

AMINAH SHAMRUDIN

Science Teacher

Science is like the beating heart of a human for Aminah. The blood and oxygen will not flow without the pumping of the heart. Aminah completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Education Science (Biology) from University Technology Mara (UiTM). Since her schooling days, she was actively involved in numerous activities as a facilitator and volunteer. In 2017, Aminah was assigned as a trainee teacher at SMK Putrajaya Presint 14(1). After this assignment, she joined the Management and English training programme by Khazanah Nasional Bhd Malaysia. She believes that teaching is not just about spreading the information, but also requires inspiration. Teachers should inspire students and always exude positive vibes.

Currently, she is a Science teacher at Abedeen International School where she is responsible in balancing the science knowledge without neglecting what is written in the Al Quran and Al Sunnah. It is her firm belief that knowledge and Islam cannot be separated. They came together and should remain together.

NUR ATHIRA RAHIDIN

Mathematics Teacher

Bachelor Degree of Biology Education

An ambitious teacher, Athira had her Bachelor Degree of Biology Education from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Perak. She began her teacher training for 6 months at Sekolah Menengah Sains Tapah where she was assigned to teach Biology, Science and Mathematics. During her studies, she participated in the international student exchange programme at University of North Carolina, Asheville, United States for 6 months where she learned a lot about the different methods of teaching.

As soon as she graduated, she was offered a position as a replacement Science teacher at Sekolah Menengah Sains Tuanku Munawir (SASER) for 5 months. While serving as a replacement teacher, she worked as a tutor at tuition centres.

Athirah joins Abedeen as a Mathematics teacher at Abedeen Primary School. As a warm and caring teacher who wants all children to be successful learners, she believes that the love for learning must start at a young age.

Ranea Nellyna or fondly known as Nelly among her peers had served in few public schools in Kuching as a temporary teacher under the Education Department of Sarawak before she joined a Multinational IT Company in Cyberjaya as an HR practitioner focusing in Human Capital Development. After serving in the corporate sector for more than a decade, she decided to re-join the education sector.

She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Jurisprudence at University of Malaya and is also a Certified Manager by the Malaysia Institute of Management.

She joins Abedeen Academy as a Social Science teacher at Abedeen Secondary School teaching History and Geography.

NOOR BAIZURA ABDUL AZIZ

Noor Baizura obtained her first degree in B. Sc. Biomolecular Sciences from MARA University of Technology. After that, she went on to pursue her Master’s Degree of English Language Studies from National University of Malaysia.

She started her teaching career in 2017, teaching English to college students before joining Abedeen Academy in 2018. Baizura is now an English teacher at Abedeen Primary School.

Baizura believes teaching in the class does not only about incorporating students with classroom knowledge, but providing the students with values they can carry with them their whole lives. She hopes that her students will grow up to be kind, thoughtful and humble individuals.

Fikri pursued his Master’s Degree in Finance, Investment and Risk at University of Kent right after he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree of Science (Hons) (Management Mathematics) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

During his Degree years, UiTM appointed him as one of the tutors for the Pre-Diploma students studying Mathematics. With numerous working experiences in between his studies including working as an HR Executive, Business Process Associate and Administrative Executive, he decided to go back to his passion for teaching and began tutoring again in 2017.

As an educator, Fikri treats his students uniquely based on their ability and capability to ensure the students are always motivated during the class. He believes that with positive encouragement from their surroundings, the students will excel. His passion and dedication have led him to join Abedeen as the Mathematics and Additional Mathematics teacher at Abedeen Secondary School.

NUR SYAZWANI ABDUL MALEK

Syazwani received her Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science and Risk Management from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and is currently pursuing her Masters’ Degree at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

Her love for teaching goes back to her university years. While studying, she volunteered at tuition centres and soon after, started her own home tuition classes. Upon graduating, she straight away started to chart her path in to education and is now a Mathematics teacher at Abedeen Secondary School.

Syazwani aspires to inspire students to be the best versions of themselves while believing in what they can achieve. Her approach in guiding her students in their journey to excellence is to give them the right amount of push and encouragement.

SYARIFAH SYUHADA BINTI SYED NASIR

First-class Degree in Bachelor of Science Education (Hons.) Biology

Syuhada or better known as Teacher Syu received her first-class degree in Bachelor of Science Education (Hons.) Biology from UiTM in 2017. Her teaching career started right after she completed her studies. She began as a part-time teacher in one of the high-performance Islamic private schools in Kuala Lumpur. In Sept 2018, she joined Abedeen Academy as a Science Teacher at Abedeen Primary School.

During her time working in Abedeen, she had conducted various science-centered events such as Science Attack, Exhibition, Thematic Learning (Scientist and Researcher programme) and also responsible for the establishment of the Young Scientist Club. Her main focus is for students to be independent learners and to discover something new every day.

NUR SHAFIQA FITRI KAMSANI

Physics and General Science Teacher

Nur Shafiqa graduated from the Drake University, United States of America with a double degree in Physics & Astronomy, and a minor in Mathematics. During her university years, she worked as an astronomy laboratory assistant. She uses this experience to constantly equip Abedeen’s science laboratory with educational materials and apparatus so students can experience science in excitement and full of passion.

Shafiqa’s goals are to teach students Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at an international level, widen their views about global issues, and create a community of curious and creative students. She has created a mini library of National Geographic magazines in the laboratory so students can read whenever they wish to.

Shafiqa teaches Physics and General Science at Abedeen International School. By relating science and physics to daily life applications, she also prepares students to survive in the third millennium where many industries in the world compete to be the best in terms of technology advancement. She loves to play her part in building the ummah by shaping students to be great future world leaders and prepares them with knowledge and skills, especially in Islamic values and science.

SIEW CHEE MENG

Accounting, Business Studies and Economics Teacher

Accounting and Business Studies

Siew studied Accounting and Business studies at Stamford College and immediately began his career in an accounting firm doing Auditing, Accounting, Taxation and Company Secretarial work. He then worked as a Post and Credit Controller and later as a Factory Manager and Logistics Controller at a Japanese Multinational Company all the way to retirement. His extensive experience in Accounting and Business created a path for him in education as private schools began hiring him as an industry expert in teaching and preparing students for IGCSE Accounting and Business Studies. Determined to continue giving back through teaching, Siew completed his Master in Education from Asia E University.

He is now the Accounting, Business Studies and Economics teacher at Abedeen International School.
